However, just days before his official presentation in the MLS, the World Cup winner faced a near-precarious situation. Reports suggest that the 35-year-old was being escorted by the police in his new Florida hometown when his car went past a red light and entered a busy intersection. Fortunately, he managed to avoid a collision with multiple cars.

Messi’s official unveiling took place on Sunday, July 16, 2023, and his debut match is scheduled for July 21 against Cruz Azul in the MLS/Liga MX.
